Emani Overnight Serum Ingredients

The Emani sleep & renew overnight serum is NON-GMO which means it is made without ingredients that were derived from genetically engineered organisms while also presenting itself as 100% vegan certified, 100% gluten-free and 100% cruelty-free. Presented in a luxury matte black bottle with a dispenser dropper it is noted to protect the product in the bottle from excessive heat and direct sunlight whilst also NOT to use on broken or damaged skin and to keep out of the eyes. The Emani overnight serum ingredients are as follows:

Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract - Loaded with a combination of vitamins, proteins, salts, acids and sugars. It has humectant and moisturising properties with also exfoliating and skin-brightening benefits.

Lactobacillus Ferment Filtrate - 86.5% fermented lactobacillus boosts bioavailability & oxygen uptake, creating a skin-conditioning formula that’s filled with nutrients and fast-absorbing into the skin.

Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract - Non-abrasive exfoliant that helps remove dead skin cells and damaged keratin that can clog pores while also decreasing inflammation and helping to fade acne spots, scars, and sun damage.

Glycerin - Skin-identical ingredient with humectant and moisturising properties. It also supports the skins lipids, protects against irritation, and helps restore the barrier function. 

1,2-Hexanediol - Humectant and emollient properties while also boosting antimicrobial preservatives and acting as a solvent for ingredients. 

Niacinamide - Vitamin B3 is a great multitasking ingredient that helps boost collagen and proteins for anti-aging benefits. Skin-lightening by suppressing the transfer of melanosomes rather than blocking them. Support the barrier function of the skin by increasing the synthesis of free fatty acids, cholesterol, and ceramides while also having anti-acne properties thanks to its sebum regulating and anti-inflammatory properties. It also supports cell growth and wound healing while also having photo protective benefits. 

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract - Soothing moisturiser and humectant with anti-inflammatory and emollient benefits.

Propanediol - Produced sustainably from corn sugar, it is a humectant and moisturiser while also boosting preservatives and acting as a solvent for ingredients to mix.

Mandelic Acid - Alpha Hydroxy Acid that is a big molecule which works on the skins surface to lift away dead skin cells while improving texture for softer and smoother skin. It does have antibacterial properties and is effective in treating post inflammatory hyperpigmentation by lightening it. 

Pentylene Glycol - Moisturiser and humectant while also acting as solvent for ingredients to dissolve in with antimicrobial benefits to work with preservatives included in a products formulation. 

Glycolic Acid - Alpha Hydroxy Acid that is a small molecule to penetrate deeper into the skin which it is able to increase collagen synthesis while it can reduce hyperpigmentation and exfoliate for improved tone and texture. 

Malic Acid - Alpha Hydroxy Acid that gently exfoliates for improved texture and tone while also adjusting the pH of formula and boosting the efficacy of other AHA exfoliants.

Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Bark/Leaf/Twig Extract - Multitasking properties such as being an astringent while also having soothing, antibacterial, and even antioxidant properties.

Adenosine - Cell communicating ingredient that has anti-inflammatory and wound healing benefits while also helping and supporting the barrier function of the skin. 

Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate (Licorice Root Extract) - Soothing with anti-inflammatory properties while also being a great humectant and moisturiser and can even help regulate sebum. 

Butylene Glycol - Humectant to help attract water to the skin while also helping ingredients dissolve in a formulation and the product to apply and absorb better. 

Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer - Helps to thicken and improve a products texture while also contributing to help the product feel nice when applied to the skin. 

Xanthan Gum - Used to thicken a products formula whilst also stopping water and oil from separating. 

Emani Sleep & Renew Overnight Serum Review

Dispensing 5-6 drops every night on to clean skin and the neck, the colourless and scent-free serum glides over the skin with ease before absorbing really quickly. It does not leave any trace of itself on the skin which is ideal if you don't like products that leave a sticky or tacky feeling whilst it is noted you may experience a slight tightening 5-30 minutes after application. It is ideal to apply a hydrating product over the top whether that be a serum or moisturiser (i have applied both) to prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL) because moisture loss from the skin increases at night. I was quite impressed with the improved clarity and tone of the complexion when greeting myself the next morning in the mirror, my exact thoughts were "my skin looks great" and my hair... well lets just call it bed head! The overnight serum can also be used on the back of the hands and chest by applying 3-4 drops to improve the tone and texture because these areas can also need an overnight treatment, just don't forget to apply your broad-spectrum SPF in the morning to protect throughout the day!
