Serums are the perfect product to deliver their active ingredients into the skin to address some skin issues you maybe suffering from. Perfect for the summer months when you are still wanting hydration without suffocating the skin with heavy products, they are also the ideal product to apply in the winter months when u are wanting to boost hydration to stop factors such as the weather and central heating that can take moisture away and dry-out the skin. The serum combines hydrators, humectants and emollients while also containing probiotics to boost the skins health. The full ingredients are as follows:

AQUA (PURE WATER) - solvent to dissolve ingredients in the formula.  

ALOE BARBADENSIS (ALOE VERA) LEAF JUICE* - Moisturiser and humectant that has soothing anti-inflammatory and wound healing benefits. 

GLYCERIN**(VEGETABLE SOURCE) - Skin-identical ingredient that moisturises and draws moisture to the skin being a humectant while also restoring the skin barrier function. 

BETAINE (FROM SUGAR BEET) - Derived amino acid derivative that is a humectant and moisturiser while also balancing cell-water to help protect the skin. 

OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL* - Emollient that nourishes and moisturisers the skin while also containing antioxidant polyphenols, tocopherols (types of vitamin E) and carotenoids, ideal for dry skin types.

CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE (FROM COCONUT OIL) - Emollient that helps nourish and make the skin feel smooth.

PENTYLENE GLYCOL (VEGETABLE SOURCE) - Moisturiser while also acting as an emulsion stabilizer, solvent and antimicrobial. It gives a product that silky-feeling on application. 

C15-19 ALKANE (VEGETABLE SOURCE) - Solvent that helps dissolve other ingredients in the formula. 

GLYCERYL STEARATE CITRATE (PLANT EMULSIFIER) - Emollient and emulsifier that helps to combine water and oils in a formula, its helps to make skin feel soft. 

HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OIL - Emollient that helps to make skin feel smooth and soft.

SQUALANE (FROM OLIVE OIL) - Skin-identical because its found in the sebum of our skin while providing emollient benefits to help make skin feel soft and smooth. 

GLUCONOLACTONE (VEGETABLE SOURCE) - Exfoliant without irritation its a polyhydroxy acid (PHA) that exfoliates for a smoother texture, provides moisturising benefits and has antioxidant and anti-aging benefits.

LACTOBACILLUS FERMENT - Probiotic that has anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties while also protecting the skin against environmental factors, it has soothing benefits.

SODIUM STEAROYL GLUTAMATE (PLANT SOURCED EMULSIFIER) - Amino acid based emulsifier that helps water and oil mix permanently. 

 

SODIUM CHLORIDE (SALT) - Emulsion stabiliser that helps water-in-oil emulsions. 

 

SODIUM GLUCONATE (PLANT DERIVED CHELATING AGENT) - Neutralises metal ions in a formula to prevent discolouration or degrading of oils while also used as a pH regulator and can act as a humectant to draw moisture to the skin. 

CITRIC ACID - Adjusts the pH of a formula for the desired result.

How To Use The Green People Nordic Roots Hyaluronic Booster Serum?

Presented in bottle with a pipette dropper to dispense your desired amount, the serum has a runny consistency and appears to be milky. Applying to a cleansed skin morning and evening the emollient and humectant rich serum glides over the skin easily and can even be applied around the delicate eye area for added comfort. I was impressed with the richness of the serum but it does not suffocate the skin or make it feel oily, it absorbs quickly leaving the skin feeling cared for. I do apply the nordic roots apple complex moisturiser from the same range over the top of it and the two work together perfectly to restore, protect and balance the skin barrier.
